The harmful gases sulfur oxides(so2), methyl, acetaldehyde, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen sulfide and low concentrations of aldehydes and org acids have very high removal efficiency. Often used with activated caybon in combination to improve the absorption efficiency. It could be also used in vegetables and fruits as adsorbent of ethylene gas.

Potassium permanganate activated alumina ball is also called hydrogen sulfide adsorbent and sulfur dioxide adsorbent because of its ability to adsorb toxic substances such as hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. The gas is oxidized and decomposed to achieve the purpose of purification. It is a commonly used chemical adsorption material and an advanced new environmentally friendly catalyst.
